iQoo 9 series to launch in India ‘soon’

Announcing that the premium ‘Make in India’ iQOO 9 series will be arriving in the country very soon, a top company executive said on Thursday that the iQOO 7 Legend will be the official smartphone for the finale of the biggest battle royale esports event in India, which is called. Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) Series.

The intensely gaming-focused iQOO 9 series will sport features like best-in-class Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 120W Flash Charge technology, dual X-axis linear motors for exceptional haptics experience and large VC liquid cooling system for unmatched gaming experience .

“We want to be aggressive with iQOO and cater to the segment of youth who are passionate about gaming and e-sports, and want to play mobile games on high-performance devices. iQOO is a role model for this community There appears to be an alternative,” iQOO CEO Nipun Mariah told IANS.

India’s $1.8 billion gaming market, which is still small compared to global markets, is set to grow rapidly over the next five years.

According to a latest report by Boston Consulting Group and Sequoia, the size of the mobile gaming market is estimated to be $1.5 billion, which is about 86 percent of the total gaming market.

The report states that revenue from mobile gaming in India is expected to reach at least $5 billion by 2025.

Maria said that iQOO wants to be the leading esports gaming device by providing the best-performing gaming handsets and by partnering with key partnerships (such as with BGMI powered by Crafton).

“We want iQOO to be the best gaming device in India at all price points,” Maria said.

The finalists of the BGMI tournament will play their final battle on the iQOO 7 Legend handset starting January 13.

“The tournament has seen impressive viewership, and we expect many more to join us during the semi-finals and final, with an expected 30 million viewership to watch the series live,” Mariah said.

The iQOO BGMI series received an overwhelming response with a total participation of 101,000 teams in the last three stages.

The prize pool of the tournament is Rs 1 crore with the winner taking Rs 50 lakh. Prizes of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 10 lakh will be given for the second and third place respectively.
