Iran: At least 17 killed, 50 injured as train derails in eastern Iran – Times of India

Tehran: A passenger train partially derailed in the east Iran State TV said that early Wednesday, at least 17 passengers were killed and 50 others were injured, some seriously. The report said the casualties could rise, although preliminary details about the disaster were unclear.
Four out of seven train cars derailed in the dark of morning near the desert city Tabasstated in the report.
Rescue teams on ambulances and three helicopters were reaching remote areas where communication is poor.
