Tehran: Iranian border guards clash with Afghans on Sunday TalibanIranian media reported, latest cross-border exchange since former rebels seized power in neighboring countries Afghanistan one year ago.

There have been repeated clashes between Iranian security forces and Afghan Taliban forces at various locations along the border since the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan last August. Exchanges of fire often take place over local issues such as disputes over farmland, water or smuggling, and usually end quickly.
In some of the fiercest conflicts, last December, the Afghan Taliban captured several outposts on the Iranian side but soon withdrew, and both sides called the incident a “misunderstanding”.
