Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will launch India’s first indigenous cruise liner from September 18, the railway PSU said on Wednesday.

In tie-up with a private company Cordelia Cruises, it will launch the first cruise from September 18 for which bookings can be made on the IRCTC website. http://www.irctctourism.com

“IRCTC has joined hands and signed agreement with Cordelia Cruises operated by M/s Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd for promotion and marketing of the first indigenous luxury cruise in India. This is yet another incredible luxury cruise under the tourism services umbrella of IRCTC. Travel is offered to the public,” the railway PSU said in a statement.

“Cordelia Cruises is India’s premium cruise liner. It aspires to promote and drive the cruise culture in India through stylish, luxurious and most importantly, naturally Indian experiences. It is a cruise liner for Indians who are Indians. Ko meets the way I love for the holidays,” it said.

IRCTC said that the guests on board the ship will experience sailing to some of the best Indian and international destinations like Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi and Sri Lanka.

Cordelia Cruises is commencing its maiden voyage from 18 September and will sail through Indian destinations with its base in Mumbai in its first leg, while later on from May 2022, the cruise will be shifted to Chennai and Colombo in Sri Lanka, Will be dispatched to destinations like Galle. , Trincomalee and Jaffna.
