ISL: Edu Bedia signs contract extension for one more season with FC Goa

Indian Super League franchise FC Goa on Tuesday said Spanish midfielder Edu Bedia has extended his stay with the club till the summer of 2023.

Bedia has been a part of FC Goa’s first team since the 2017-18 season. In almost five years, he has made 102 appearances for FC Goa in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and as many assists.

“It is a pleasure for me to meet various personal milestones and achieve laurels with the club. However, I believe that this coming season will be my most important at the club and I am confident that we will be back among the top teams in the ISL,” Bedia was quoted as saying in a media release.

FC Goa Director of Football Ravi Pushkur said that Bedia brings with him a wealth of experience.

“We expect that he will be a bridge between the current crop of players and the new ones to come. Edu is well aware that the challenge for him is to continue to grow as a player and step up to the challenge that the league holds. With each passing year, ”Puskur said.

Over the past four seasons, the Spaniard has been part of several iconic moments for the ‘Gour’, including the first goal scored by an Indian side in the group stages of the AFC Champions League.
