COVID-19 is spreading extensively in many countries around the world. While the fear of another possible pandemic wave has not subsided, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued fresh guidelines regarding people who may be infected with the deadly virus.

Amid the spread of new variants of COVID-19, WHO has urged everyone to continue wearing masks and take booster doses of the vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus.

Here’s a detailed look at the updated WHO guidelines

WHO has said that if the patients of Kovid-19 are showing symptoms of the virus then they have to remain isolated for at least 10 days from the date of onset of symptoms.

Earlier it was said in the guidelines of WHO covid-19 patients People who show symptoms of COVID-19 will be discharged 10 days after the onset of symptoms, with at least 3 days of vigilance after symptoms disappear

-WHO mentions that if a Covid patient tests negative with an antigen-based rapid test, he/she can be discharged early from isolation

Asymptomatic Covid patients or individuals who have tested positive for the virus but do not experience any symptoms should be isolated for 5 days, WHO noted in its updated guidelines

Earlier the isolation period for these patients was ten days.
