Israel’s parliament dissolved, 5th election in 4 years – Times of India

Jerusalem: Israelhas voted to dissolve itself and send the country to an election november For the fifth time in less than four years.
Israel’s foreign minister and architect of the outgoing coalition government Yair Lapid will become the country’s acting prime minister after midnight on Friday. He will be the 14th person to hold the position Naftali BennettYoungest Prime Minister of Israel.
New elections will be held on 1 November.
The move brings a formal end to a year-long experiment in which eight parties across Israel’s political spectrum tried to find common ground after a period of prolonged political deadlock, with the country holding four elections in two years.
