Jaipur: Sachin Pilot camp MLA Ved Prakash Solanki accused him of attempting to honeytrap. Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: Congress MLA Ved Prakash Solankistaunch supporter of former deputy CM Sachin Piloton Tuesday alleged that an attempt was made to honeytrap him through a WhatsApp video call and he lodged a complaint with the city’s Bajaj Nagar police station in January.
Solanki alleged that he met senior police officials in this regard, but the action is still pending as no FIR has been registered. The MLA last week called a press meeting at his residence to brush off allegations of cross-voting by two Congress Zilla Parishad members who had helped rival BJP.
During the press conference, he alleged that honeytrap was tried on him to suppress his voice. Solanki said, “I have filed a complaint against women sending videos to blackmail them.”
Asked if there was an attempt to honeytrap him, Solanki replied, “Kuch bhi kar kar karta, khuch bhi ho hai, kuch bhi kar ki hai.”
Solanki declined to share the details of his complaint and asked the media to investigate with the Bajaj Nagar police and senior police officials.
Police said Solanki had sent the complaint through his PSO (personal security officer) on January 26. As per the complaint, the MLA received a video call from an unknown mobile number. The video call allegedly showed a woman making obscene gestures. Solanki told the police that the video call was a conspiracy to defame him.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ajay Pal Lamba said that the police acted swiftly on the MLA’s complaint. Based on the location of the mobile number, a team was sent to Uttar Pradesh, but the accused was not found there. “The complaint was investigated and it was found that the MLA disconnected the call when he found a woman making obscene gestures. Prima facie no criminal case was made out, but a complaint was registered to trace the whereabouts of the woman. Lamba said the address of the suspect number was found to be false and inquiries were being made.
Another official said that since the lockdown, cases of sextortion have become common, where gangs make obscene video calls to honeytrap victims and demand money. Police said that since the MLA immediately disconnected the video call, there was no crime involved.
