James Gunn upset fans when he announced that Hollywood actor Henry Cavill would not be returning as Superman. In a series of tweets, Gunn addressed the future of the DCU and cleared the air about Henry no longer playing a lead role. After which, he was criticized by fans and admirers of Henry. Now, the DC CEO and filmmaker has finally addressed the backlash against the new direction the production company is aiming to take.
Gunn posted a picture on Instagram and gave his response to the whole situation with a message. “One of the things Peter and I worked out about when we headed DC Studios was there was a certain minority of people online that could be, well, abusive and unkind to say the least. Our picks for the DCU are based on what we believe is best for the story and the best for the DC characters that have been around for 85 years. Maybe these choices are great, maybe not, but they are true heart and honesty and always are built with the story in mind,” Gunn explained.
“No one likes to be harassed or called names – but, frankly, we’ve been through bad enough. Outrageous outrage will never, ever affect our actions. We knew that when we went to this gig There will be a period of turbulence if we take it. , and we knew we would sometimes have to make difficult and less obvious choices, especially in light of the horrific nature of what we encountered. But our jobs in helping artists and patrons It matters little to us in comparison to creating a wide and wonderful future for DC.”
Gunn’s response was supported by several Hollywood actors in the comments section of his post. Actor Michael B. Jordan shared a clapping emoji. He worked with the studio on the animated film Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.

Earlier, in a series of tweets, Gunn stated that Henry would no longer play the lead. Gunn also clarified that he has been writing the project for some time, but is not sure who will direct the film. Gunn revealed that Henry Cavill would not be taking up the cape as the film would focus on the earlier part of Superman’s life. “Those guys have Superman on the slate.
