Jammu and Kashmir: 1 killed in firing by CRPF jawans to stop suspicious vehicle in Anantnag

A man was shot dead on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district after he allegedly did not stop his vehicle at a checkpoint, officials said.

He said that the incident took place around 9.30 pm in Mongal area of ​​the district.

The CRPF jawan signaled the driver of an SUV to stop but he did not respond. The CRPF jawan opened fire, injuring the SUV driver seriously. Officials said the driver later succumbed to his injuries.
