Jammu and Kashmir encounter underway in Rajouri’s Dassal forest area

After getting a tip of terrorist movement in the area, security forces tracked those terrorists and entered into a fresh encounter in the Dassal forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri on Friday. cials said.

“Encounter underway in Rajouri’s Dassal forest area,” said Army officials on Friday.

There have been no more information about the encounter, and more details are awaited. A day ago, two terrorists were associated with banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested along with arms and ammunition in Baramulla.

To hunt down the terrorists, the secuity forces had placed a Mobile Vehicle Checkpoint (MCVP) at the Frestihar Waripora crossing after receiving a tip about terrorist movement in the village.

The terrorists tried to flee while noticing the checkpoint but were apprehended by the security forces at Frestihar Kreeri village. The arrested persons were identified as Suhail Gulzar and Waseem Ahmad Pata, said police. Arrested people are facing charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act at Kreeri police station. Two Chinese Pistols, two pistol magazines and fifteen live pistols were recovered from the accused.
