JD(U) on its way to become a national party: Lalan Singh after defection in Manipur

A day after five of the six members of the Janata Dal (United) joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur, the party’s national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh accused the BJP of using dirty tricks. Alleged and also confirmed that JD(U) is on its way to become a national party.

The JD(U) president alleged that the BJP uses money power for politicians and events happening in the country. Manipur Similar to BJP’s “earlier efforts in Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra”.

Lalan said, “In Manipur our MLAs defeated BJP candidates in the elections. The same thing happened in Arunachal Pradesh where our MLAs were poached while we were in NDA.”

“Whatever the BJP moves, it will not be able to stop the JD(U) from becoming a national party till 2023,” Lalan said.

The embarrassment for the JD(U) is particularly sharp this time as the party recently severed ties with the BJP in Bihar and went back with old allies. At present, the party is holding its national executive meeting and is trying to project the Chief Minister of Bihar. Nitish Kumar for a bigger role.

“The BJP should worry about itself. In the 2015 assembly elections, none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed 42 rallies, but the party could win only 53 seats in the 243-strong Bihar assembly. One must think of fate when Lalan said that the entire opposition would be united against him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently attacked the opposition parties, accusing them of protecting the corrupt. Taking a jibe at him, Lalan Singh said, “What the BJP is doing to other parties is ‘virtue’, but a joint fight against its open use of money force is ‘corruption’. The prime minister has again raised these terms. defined.”

The JD(U) national president also rejected Sushil Modi’s remarks about a “JD(U)-free” Bihar after the party lost its MLAs in Arunachal and Manipur.

Lalan remarked, “Let Sushil Modi sell the daydream to his central leadership. This may help him come out of the political jungle.”

The JD(U) had won six out of 38 seats in the Manipur assembly elections held in March. On Friday, five of the six MLAs – Khumucham Joykisan Singh, Ngursangalur Sanate, Mohd Achab Uddin, Thanjam Arunkumar and former DGP LM Khaute – joined the BJP.

In 2020, six out of seven JD(U) MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh joined the BJP and last week the remaining MLAs also joined the BJP.
