The Meridian SUV will be produced at Jeep’s Ranjangaon manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. The SUV gets a seven-slat grille, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs and LED fog lamps and a muscular front bumper. The side profile gets 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and side cladding with indicators. At the rear, it gets sleek LED tail-lamps.
Moving on to the interior, the Jeep Meridian strikes a resemblance with the cabin compass But with three-row seating. Following a dual-tone interior theme with ‘Emparador’ brown seats, the SUV will come equipped with a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless charging. alpine 9-speaker sound system, connected car technology, ventilated front seats, power operated passenger seats and AC vents for second and third row seats.
Other highlights of the Jeep Meridian SUV include a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and powered tailgate.
The safety suite of the Jeep Meridian SUV includes 360 degree cameras, 6 airbags, electronic parking brake, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, rear parking sensors with rear camera, ISOFIX child seat mount, hill start assist, seat belt reminder . , defogger and rear wiper.
At heart, the Meridian SUV will likely use the same 2.0-litre Multijet four-cylinder turbo diesel engine as the Compass. The engine produces 172 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. A 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission will be on offer. The brand claims that the SUV has a top speed of 198 kmph and accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 10.8 seconds.
Expected to be priced around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2022 Jeep Meridian will take on its competitors, namely the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and more when launched in the Indian market.
