Jersey No. 10, a Kannada film on hockey, is releasing on May 19.

Aadya Thimayah M released her film, jersey number 10 This week. Adya directs, acts in the film and has also written the story and screenplay of the film. “I have done cameos in a few films (including villain), But wanted to make a film on a hockey player as I have played the game in Karnataka,” says the 29-year-old.

Adya says that the film is neither biographical nor is it based on any real-life incident. “The focus is on hockey as I felt there was no such Kannada film which talked about the sport. My mother, Chondaki Thimayya, gave me the idea and I have woven a web of fantasy and romance around the game.”

jersey number 10 Talks about a grandfather played by Adya and his grandson’s journey. Award-winning actor, HG Dattatreya, plays his grandfather. The thriller Manju also stars Chandan Achar, Anusha Sanchaya and Mandya Ramesh.

Adya explains that the film tries to make entertaining content. “Vijay Prakash, Rajesh Krishnan, Jubin Paul and Aishwarya Rangarajan have sung for the film.” jersey number 10 Shot in Coorg, Mangaluru and Bengaluru.

Aadya started off as a model (Kingfisher, Levista and Volvo to name a few) and has been involved in amateur theater in Bengaluru. “I have done more than 200 ramp walks and then started writing extensively. Today I have five stories that can be turned into screenplays. i started with Jersey number 10.

Always wanting to be an actor, Adya waited till she completed her civil engineering before taking the plunge. The film is produced by Adhya and Lalu Thimayya and co-produced by Rashin Subbaiah MD and will release on May 19 under the banner Adhya Koteshwar Films.
