Jet Airways CEO-designate Sanjeev Kapoor resigns

New Delhi: Sanjeev Kapoor, the CEO-designate of grounded airline Jet Airways, has resigned just a year after joining the company. He was appointed as the CEO-designate in April 2022. As per an official release, he is leaving the company with effect from Monday, May 1, on completion of his notice period.

“I am proud to be part of a wonderful team that came together with JKC to create history by reviving an airline for the first time in India. It is not any ordinary airline that we set out to revive – it is Jet Airways , one of the most preferred airlines operated in India for the last 25 years before ceasing operations in 2019,” Mr Kapoor said in the statement today.

The Jalan Kalrock Consortium announced in an official statement. The airline has been decommissioned since 2019 due to financial troubles. The airline’s committee of creditors has approved a capital infusion revival plan floated by a consortium of Dubai-based Murari Lal Jalan and UK-based Kalrock Capital, now called JKC.

“JKC remains fully committed to the revival of Jet Airways, and JKC’s Executive Committee will oversee the CEO-designate’s responsibilities until a suitable replacement is found.” read the official statement.
