Kota: A police constable died after a vehicle collided with his motorcycle on a highway in Rajasthan. Jhalawadi On Tuesday, officials said the district was on his way to arrest a murder accused.
Sepoy Dushyant Gurjar (26), a resident of village Sarolakalan in Jhalawar district, was posted at Asanwar police station in the same district. He joined the police service in 2018 and is survived by two young daughters.
Asnawar police station SHO Harwant Singh Randhawa said that Gurjar was on his way to arrest a murder accused, who is said to have been in a nearby village late on Monday night when an unidentified vehicle hit the NH near Dongargaon valley. At around 8.15 pm on -52 hit his motorcycle.
The injured constable was immediately taken to the police vehicle SRG Hospital In Jhalawar, where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.
He said that the police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the driver of the unidentified vehicle who fled the spot and a search is on for him.
The SHO further said that after the postmortem on Tuesday morning, the body was handed over to the relatives, after which the constable was cremated with state honors in his native village.
