Jhanvi Kapoor on carrying forward Sridevi’s legacy: ‘She always stood for dignity and innocence’

Janhvi Kapoor impressed quite a bit with her stellar performance in her recent OTT film Good Luck Jerry. The late Sridevi’s daughter was praised by critics and film buffs alike, as did justice to her character. Carrying on her mother’s legacy, the Dhadak actress who will remain unparalleled for ages to come, often comes under question about learning from Sridevi.

During a candid chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on her YouTube podcast The Ranveer Show, the actress opened up about the myriad lessons her multi-faced mother gave her. She shared that she has unknowingly adopted Sridevi’s modus operandi in her daily life. Janhvi said, “I think if she had been around, I would have been able to answer this more candidly, but now that she is not, I keep thinking that people might think drawing parallels between me and my mother. I have an ego of my own. Obviously I walk the way I walk in the corridor in the morning. When I eat food and the sound I make is just like that. Obviously, my voice matches that. -Like. Obviously, I cry like her. I’m as needy as her, I guess.”

The Ghost Stories actor further added, “I’m a little switch on and off in front of the camera just like him. I think I am as sensitive as her. She always stood for dignity and innocence. To my mind, she was such a lighthouse of someone who, after spending so many years in the industry was still a child, yet so naive, innocent, sheltered in the ways of the world. And I think that’s what makes his art so spotless, and what makes him so corrupt as a person. ,
