Joni Mitchell Pulls Her Music From Spotify Over COVID-19 ‘Lies’

Singer Joni Mitchell said on Friday that she was pulling her music from Spotify on the streaming service to “lie” about Covid-19, days after fellow music titan Neil Young did the same.

Rogan has a multi-year exclusive deal with Spotify, which is reportedly worth $100 million, and has a massive following.

Critics say his podcast is a platform for conspiracy theories and propaganda, especially on COVID-19.

Rogan has discouraged vaccination in young people and promoted the off-label use of the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin to treat the virus.

In a statement this week, Spotify said: “We want all the music and audio content in the world to be available to Spotify users.

“With this comes a huge responsibility to balance both safety for listeners and freedom for creators. We have detailed content policies and have removed more than 20,000 COVID-related podcast episodes since the start of the pandemic.”
