Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning to reunite with Gareth Bale in Roma

Welsh striker Gareth Bale, once the world’s most expensive footballer, was reportedly offered to Italian football club Roma after his agent left Real Madrid on a free transfer. It is believed the striker is expected to get regular minutes before 2022 Qatar World cup. It now looks like Bale is close to reuniting with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma.

Mourinho and Bale have previously worked together at Tottenham in the 2020-21 season. During that time, Bale scored 16 goals for Spurs.

Mourinho has already signed Nemanja Matic from Manchester United. The Serbian midfielder and Mourinho previously worked together at Old Trafford.

“I want to play in the World Cup to be as fit as possible. Once I play football regularly my body will get stronger and better. It’s very difficult when you are in and out of a team. I need to play the game and I would love to go,” the 32-year-old striker said according to The Sun.

“I am clearly not doing football for the money. I want to play to get that fitness for the competition and to help the club I am in,” he continued.

According to the same publication, Tottenham are reportedly monitoring the status of the Cardiff-born footballer to sign him for a third spell. The report further added that other English clubs such as Aston Villa, Newcastle United and newly-innovated Nottingham Forest are also interested in signing Bale.

According to the latest transfer market update, Roma are keen to acquire Bale’s services and their agent has started offering him to several top-flight European clubs.

Before the 2013–14 season, Bale joined Real Madrid. In his first stint with Los Blancos, Bell played in 251 matches and scored 106 goals. In 2020, the striker was sent to Tottenham on a loan move. In his second spell at Tottenham, Bale scored 16 goals in 34 appearances.

After successfully completing his loan spell at Tottenham, Bale returned to the Santiago Bernabeu-based organization. His second spell with Real Madrid did not prove fruitful as he only managed to play seven matches and score just one goal.
