“The accused, the native Solapurwas living in Kalwa where he had befriended the victim. Police said the accused invited the victim to his house on the pretext of celebrating her birthday in 2019, after which he made her drink alcohol and allegedly raped her.
“The accused later created a fake profile of the woman as an escort on a social networking site and also posted her personal mobile number following which he received several calls from unknown numbers,” informed the senior inspector. Manohar Avhadi Kalwa Police Station.
After the complainant approached the police, the accused fled from his rented flat in Kalwa and was repeatedly changing his mobile number and location to escape. to arrest, Eventually the man was traced to Goa from where he was arrested by the Kalwa police.
It is learned that this man has harassed many women in the same way in the past and the police is investigating the matter further.
