Kamal Haasan lauds Surya’s Jai Bheem for raising issues of marginalized community

Tamil film star Suriya’s new film ‘Jai Bheem’ has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from Tuesday. The courtroom drama written and directed by TJ Gyanvel revolves around the lives of tribal people and depicts an advocate’s fight for justice for the marginalized tribal community. It has been receiving immense praise and unprecedented appreciation from fans and critics alike.

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan also saw Jai Bhim and got emotional. He lauded the film for making public the voices of the voiceless.

Haasan said in a tweet that seeing Jai Bheem, tears welled up in his eyes. He said that the film directed by TJ Gyananvel has exposed the pain and struggle of the tribal community. He extended his best wishes to the entire team of Jai Bhim.

Responding to Haasan’s appreciation, Suriya said that he is following the path shown by the veteran actor. He also thanked Hassan for praising the film.

The team of Jai Bheem had reportedly made special arrangements for Kamal Haasan to watch the film.

Earlier on Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had praised Suriya’s latest film. At a special screening ahead of the OTT release, Stalin saw the film and said that the film made him heavy overnight. He praised the cast and crew of the film. CM Stalin said the film reminded him of his days in prison during the Emergency in 1976.

In the film, Surya is playing the role of a lawyer named Chandru, who fights against all odds for the tribal communities. Apart from Suriya, Jai Bheem also stars Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan, Rao Ramesh and Lijomol Jose in important roles.

The story of Jai Bheem movie is inspired from real life events based on the life of popular advocate and retired judge of Madras High Court, Justice Chandru. The film is streaming in multiple languages ​​on Amazon Prime Video from November 2.
