Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar buried next to his parents

The funeral was completed by 8 am

Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who died on 29 OctoberHe was buried with state honors next to his parents Dr Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar at Kantheerava Studio on 31 October in the presence of family, friends, film industry colleagues and dignitaries. The ceremony concluded with pomp till 8 pm.

The actor’s body was carried in a procession through Bengaluru from Kanteerva Stadium, where they were kept for public viewing before sunrise. Even in the early hours of the day, the funeral procession was welcomed by thousands of fans and well-wishers who paid their last respects. Though fans were not allowed inside the studio, thousands of people bid farewell with ‘Appu Amara’ slogans and tears.

Karnataka Police offered a 21-gun salute to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai before handing over the national flag, which was wrapped around the mortal remains of the actor, to his wife Ashwini Revanth.

After this the family took over and performed the last rites. Vinay Rajkumar, the eldest son of Raghavendra Rajkumar, performed rituals for his uncle’s last visit as per family traditions.

Ashwini and the couple’s daughters Dhriti and Vandita cried holding each other and shed many emotional and tears for their loss. Shiva Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar broke down and started crying uncontrollably as soon as they buried their brother.

Several prominent film personalities and politicians including Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah, former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and KPCC President DK Shivakumar reached the venue to bid farewell to the late actor.
