The Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has started an inquiry into the office of Dawat-e-Islami in Colonelganj area and issued notice to the organization over the alleged illegal construction.
The organization has to show the ownership document and map within 15 days. After that, according to the officials, further action will be taken in the matter.
The KDA has issued a notice on Thursday regarding the five-storey construction of the new Dawat-e-Islami building in Chhote Mian Ka Hut.
This year the building was constructed at Gammu Khan Ka Hata located in Colonelganj area. It is worth noting that the accused in the murder of Hindu tailor Kanhaiyalal in Jodhpur was associated with the Dawat-e-Islami organization, whose office according to officials runs in this illegally constructed five-storey building.
Action on illegal construction can range from sealing to demolition.
KDA Special Officer Avnish Singh told India Today that a notice has been issued regarding the construction. Information about its ownership, maps etc. has been sought from the people living in the building within 15 days.
The documents submitted in response to the notice will be scrutinized. Even if the documents are not provided, the investigation will be done as per the rules and action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.
Two days ago, KDA officials had inspected the five-storey building of Dawat-e-Islami at Chhote Mian Ka Hut and sought a map of the building from the people present at the Dawat-e-Islami centre.
The people living in the building have been warned that if the map is not given in a day or two, action will be taken as per rules by giving notice.
