Karishma Shirvoikar misses out on Indian women’s football team

Karishma Purushottam Shirvoikar was a big miss as Indian women’s team head coach Thomas Dennerby named a 23-man squad for the upcoming friendly matches in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, starting Saturday, October 2. The team, which is currently camping in Jamshedpur, will travel to New Delhi on Wednesday, from where they will jointly play two friendly matches against the UAE national team (October 2) and the Tunisia national team (October 4). Will travel to Arab Emirates.

The team would later travel to Bahrain, where they would play two friendly matches against the Bahrain national team (10 October) and the Taiwan national team (13 October).

Head Coach Thomas Dennerby said, “After almost a month of training in Jharkhand, we are extremely happy to be on our way to these friendly matches in the UAE and Bahrain. To assess the progress the girls have made during the training camp, These matches will be essential for us, as they will be pitted against some tough teams.”

“We are all looking forward to these matches, and are grateful to the authorities for making arrangements for the pandemic in such difficult circumstances,” he said.
