Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam evaluation process may change, answer sheets will be checked by other colleges

The Department of Pre-University Education (PUE) of Karnataka has proposed several changes in the pattern of Karnataka 2nd PUC Midterm Exam 2021 to be held from 29th November to 10th December. As per the proposed scheme of PUE, the answer scripts will be evaluated by the lecturers of other colleges. and institutes. Earlier, the evaluation of answer copies was done at the college level.

According to a report in Times of India, PUE Karnataka will form a committee in each district to conduct the 2nd PUC Mid-Term Exam 2021 smoothly. The department will also set up nodal centers in each taluk for the distribution of question papers, collection and distribution of answer sheets as well as the collection of evaluated answer scripts as well as the collection of mark sheets. Once the exam is conducted, the answer sheets of all the students who appeared in the second PUC mid-term exam will be randomly distributed in the colleges across the state.

Earlier, the question papers were prepared at the district level by the union of principals in collaboration with the concerned department and evaluation was done by the college. However, this year PUE has proposed changes to both the procedures. Now the question papers will be prepared by the department.

As per the report, the lecturers along with their regular duties will have to evaluate the answer sheets of Karnataka 2nd PUC Mid Term Exam. The evaluation process is likely to be completed within 8-10 days. It is believed that while the new pattern will improve the examinations, some lecturers and college principals are not in favor of it.

A college principal was quoted as saying by the news portal, “We welcome the district level examination. However, the post-examination procedures are unscientific.” He also shared that the admission for the second PUC is yet to be completed and hence, the manpower crunch at the nodal centers can be challenging.

It is to be noted that the changes are proposed only for the 2nd PUC Mid Term Exam while the Karnataka 1st PUC Mid Term Exam Pattern will remain the same.
