Karnataka Elections 2023: Congress’s Chimmankatti wins from Badami

Karnataka Election Results 2023 Badami Election Results: BB Chimmankatti of INC has won the Badami constituency on Saturday. He defeated BJP’s Shantagowda Tirtagowda Patil by a margin of 9725 votes.

The Congress leader won the election by securing 38.95 percent of the total votes in the Badami constituency. The percentage is equal to the 65845 votes he got in the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023.

BJP’s Shantagowda Tirtagowda Patil was the runner-up with 33.2 per cent votes, which was equivalent to 56120 votes. Hanmant of Janata Dal Secular. B. Mavinmarad came third by securing 24.59 per cent votes, which is equivalent to 41572 votes.

INC’s BB Chimmankatti won the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 from Badami by a margin of 9,700 votes, leaving BJP’s Shantagowda Tirtagowda Patil far behind.

According to data from the Election Commission of India, the Congress had won the seat in the last Karnataka Assembly election by a margin of 15,113 votes (10.87%), receiving 41.31% of the total votes.

The Congress is all set to form the government in the state as it has won 101 seats and is leading in 35 seats so far. Overall, the Congress is ahead in 136 seats in the 224-seat assembly constituency.

But now the Congress will have another challenge to choose the chief minister for the state, with senior leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah in the fray.
