Karnataka Weekend Curfew: Know What’s Allowed and What’s Not

Karnataka The government imposed a weekend curfew on Tuesday – this Friday from 10 pm to 5 am Monday – to contain the spread of the Covid-19 infection, which is yet again on the rise.

With the weekend curfew, theatres, malls, pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, cinema halls, multiplexes and auditoriums are allowed to operate at 50% capacity. Only those taking both doses of the vaccine will be allowed inside.

No gathering will be allowed in public places, Karnataka minister R Ashoka has said.

– All offices will work 5 days a week during this period from Monday to Friday.

Government Secretariat will run on 50% workforce with an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary.

Public transport including BMRCL will operate as per the directions of the Chief Executive of the organization to meet the needs of the people for emergent purposes during the weekend curfew.

Karnataka minister said that schools in Bengaluru, apart from class 10 and 12, will remain closed for two weeks from January 6.

Marriage ceremonies involving more than 200 people in open spaces and more than 100 people in closed spaces are allowed, strictly following the fair practices and prevailing guidelines issued by the State Government.

Religious places are allowed to open only for darshan. No service, etc. is allowed. The entry of people will be restricted to 50 persons who have been fully vaccinated at any one time.

Malls, shopping complexes, all stand alone shops and establishments will operate as usual on weekdays.

Swimming pool and gym will operate at 50% capacity but entry will be restricted to fully vaccinated persons.

Sports complexes and stadiums are allowed to function with 50% capacity.

All rallies, dharnas, dharnas are prohibited.

Intense surveillance will be done along the border of Kerala and Maharashtra as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. of Karnataka. The same guidelines have been extended for the state of Goa.
