But according to the Amanta calendar, which is followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and southern India, it falls in Ashwin month. 1. Goddess Parvati, along with Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, and Lord Kartikeya, are worshipped on this day.
2. Married women fast for the entire day, and Karwa Chauth Puja is done in the evening.

2. Women should wear elements that are associated with married women, such as a mangal sutra, bindi, bangles, and so on.

4. When breaking the Karwa Chauth fast, avoid fried foods since they may upset your stomach.

Karva Chauth History

There are many legends and beliefs associated with the history of Karwa Chauth.

One of the most popular legends is the story of Queen Veeravati. Veeravati was a beautiful and devoted wife. On her first Karva Chauth, her seven brothers tricked her into breaking her fast by posing in a mirror as the moon. Soon after breaking the fast, Veeravati received the news of her husband’s death. She was devastated and wept bitterly. A goddess appeared to Veeravati and revealed the truth about her brothers’ trick. The goddess also blessed Veeravati, saying that her husband would be revived. Veeravati’s husband was revived, and they lived happily ever after.

Another legend associated with Karwa Chauth is the story of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. Parvati once observed a fast to please Lord Shiva and obtain him as her husband. Her devotion and sacrifice were rewarded, and Lord Shiva married Parvati.
