Award-winning actor Kate Winslet is set to star in an HBO limited series titled “The Palace”, which will be helmed by acclaimed director Stephen Frears.

Will Tracy, the writer and executive producer of HBO’s hit series “Succession,” is the creator of “The Palace.”

According to Hollywood Reporter“The Palace” chronicles a year inside a totalitarian regime as it begins to unravel.

Mr Frears is best known for “The Queen” and Sundance’s “State of the Union”.

HBO Programming Executive VP Francesca Orsi said that the premium cabler is honored to be working with this incredibly talented group of filmmakers on “The Palace.”

“The notion that Kate Winslet and Stephen Frears, two of our industry’s leading lights (who have remarkably never collaborated before), brought to life Will Tracy’s wildly original, presenter and dazzling scripts at HBO Joining the army is like a dream come true. For us,” Ms. Orsi said.

Ms Winslet will also executive producer the drama, which HBO has ordered to be serialized.

This is the actor’s second HBO project she has been involved in in recent weeks. Ms. Winslet, who starred in the successful HBO Max series “Mayor of Easttown”, is also engaged to star in and executive produce “Trust”, another limited series in development on the network.

Mr. Tracy will serve as showrunner for “The Palace” and will executive produce with Frears, Winslet and Frank Rich. Seth Rees, Julie Weiner, Jen Sprea, Gary Schettingart and Sarah Delappe will write the series.
