‘Keeping eye on key industry, tech giant Mysore’

We’ll support everyone, says DC at Manufacturing and Technology Conference 2021

The district was at the peak of growth and development as major industries and technology giants have shown interest in setting up their units in Mysore.

This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gautam after inaugurating the annual Manufacturing and Technology Conference 2021 ‘Sustainability through Futuristic Manufacturing’ organized by Confederation of Indian Industry, Mysore Chapter here on Friday.

The DC said that the government and district administration are providing all possible assistance to such undertakings so that manufacturing units and industrialization spread out of Bengaluru. While Asian Paints is already at large in Mysore, Tata has also shown interest in setting up a semiconductor facility and looks positive about Mysore.

He said that a few decades back the IT wave had benefited the IT sector but the current wave of digitization moved beyond IT to manufacturing and other engineering sectors. India was poised to make the most of the wave of digitization and was poised to become the world’s largest manufacturer of electronics products including mobile phones and laptops.

Pawan Ranga, President, CII, Mysore, said manufacturing was disrupted due to COVID-19, but the economy was bouncing back and the supply chain challenges that persisted globally are also improving.

He said the conference addresses how manufacturing should look in the future and use technology and digitization. One positive aspect of the pandemic was that a lot of digitization has been adopted and companies have become more efficient.

DK Lingaraju, Joint Director, DIC, Mysore explained about the various government schemes and incentives available for new industries.

Ashok Rao, former President, CII Mysore; V. Easwar Rao, Convener, CII Manufacturing and Technology Panel; and Supriya Salian, Vice President, CII Mysore, were among the attendees. More than 140 participants representing various industries participated in the conference.
