Kejriwal’s ‘palace bungalow’ controversy: Taking note of media reports of crores of rupees being spent on the “palace bungalow” of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the LG has issued an order to the Chief Secretary to keep all ‘relevant’ files under his jurisdiction. The BJP has been attacking AAP and the Delhi Chief Minister over Rs 45 crore spent on the renovation of the Chief Minister’s residence at 6, Flagstaff Road in the Civil Lines area.

While the BJP alleged “gross corruption” in the renovation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence, the Congress said it was “shameful” and a slap in the face of its voters. The BJP had even alleged that the expenditure under various heads was kept below Rs 10 crore to avoid the scrutiny of the Lieutenant Governor.

BJP’s national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged, “Rs 9.99 crore was spent on the Chief Minister’s camp office. This is clearly a case of gross corruption. This clearly exposes the corruption of the Aam Aadmi Party.

However, AAP hit back, accusing the BJP of diverting attention from key issues by raising the issue of Rs 45 crore spent on the House. “Since yesterday, there has been an attempt to divert attention from major issues like Pulwama attack and Adani row by discussing Chief Minister’s residence. It was an 80-year-old house built in 1942. There were not one but three roof collapse incidents,” AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
