The Crime Branch of Kerala Police today raided the residence of actor Dileep and his brother and the office of their production house Grand Production Company in a fresh case against them for allegedly threatening the investigating officers in a sexual harassment case of an actress. Dileep is also an accused in the 2017 case.

The case was registered on Sunday following a complaint filed by an investigating officer on the basis of an purported audio clip of Dileep, released by a TV channel recently, in which the actor was allegedly accused of conspiring to attack the officer. was heard doing.

Director Balachandra Kumar, who recently through the media made some shocking revelations against Dileep in the actress assault case, had also given some corroborative statements to the crime branch.

Mr Kumar had claimed that the conspiracy to attack the investigating officers was discussed several times.

He had said, ‘If the matter comes up only once, it can explode emotionally. But the same thing was discussed at many places, which means proper planning was done.

Kumar had on November 25 lodged a complaint with the Kerala Chief Minister’s Office against Dileep making scathing allegations, stating that he was an eyewitness to the main accused Pulsar Sunni being seen at the residence of accused actor Dileep. The complainant also alleged that Dileep had seen the video recording of the sexual assault of the kidnapped actress along with a group of others and had also provided excerpts of the audio conversation recorded at Dileep’s house, including alleged attempts to influence key witnesses. .

There are no details yet about what the crime branch has recovered or what it was hoping to get.

A top crime branch official said that three teams of officers have been sent to raid the three places simultaneously.

However, as per the visuals shown on news channels, the raiding teams had to wait for some time for their opening outside Dileep’s residence and his company’s office.

The High Court on Tuesday asked the police not to take any action against Dileep, his brother and brother-in-law till January 14.

In his anticipatory bail plea, the actor has claimed that the latest case has been registered on the complaint of an investigating officer in the sexual harassment case of the actress as the officer did not want to be interrogated during the trial.

The actor and five others have been booked under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 116 (abetment), 118 (concealment of design to commit offence), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (Criminal Act). done by many).

In their plea, the actor and his relatives also claimed that the complaint made against them by the officer – DYSP (Crime Branch) Baiju Pauloz was “false” and the allegations in the FIR registered on the basis of the complaint were false. “Totally false and baseless”.

He has also claimed that the intention behind registering the case was to detain him and humiliate him in public.

The victim had also written to the Chief Minister of Kerala and the state police chief, seeking justice. Days after the film director leveled fresh allegations against him, he had demanded a re-investigation in the case against Dileep.

A source close to the victim said, “The survivor wants the allegations to be investigated and she has a right to know what is truth and what is not.”

The survivor – an actor who had acted in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films – was kidnapped and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours by some of the accused, who forced her on the night of February 17, 2017. had entered the vehicle. later ran away. There are 10 accused in this case and initially seven people were arrested by the police. Dileep was later arrested and later released on bail.
