Kerala journalist arrested for forcibly making obscene video to colleague

The Kerala Police on Saturday arrested a noted journalist TP Nandakumar for forcing a female colleague to make an obscene video of state Health Minister Veena George.

The Ernakulam North police registered the case on May 27 based on a complaint filed by an aide of TP Nandakumar, alleging that he forced her to make obscene videos of Health Minister Veena George.

According to the police, the complainant alleged in the complaint that, “TP Nandakumar forced me to act in an obscene scene as a deceiver of Minister Veena George. He offered me money for it and refused to shoot the video.” Threatened me if I did. They also insulted me for my caste.”

The accused, known as Crime Nandakumar, has been convicted of offenses under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage modesty) A case has been registered under of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the police, the complainant has also alleged that the accused repeatedly approached and threatened her to make the video.

Earlier too, the police had registered a case against TP Nandakumar for allegedly defaming Veena George through social media platforms.
