Speaking to the media in the evening, he said the government immediately formed 16 committees to oversee surveillance, sample testing, result management, contact tracing, operation of a travel system for the sick, infrastructure management and data analysis. formed, so as to effectively prevent the spread. He said that at present there were 257 people in the contact list and out of these 141 were health workers and none of them have any serious symptoms.

He also said that all the samples tested till then were negative for Nipah and more were being tested at the Kozhikode Medical College as well as the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune and their results are awaited. Was.

He said the laboratory in Kozhikode was set up overnight with the joint and proactive efforts of NIV Pune, NIV Alappuzha and Medical College where a pay ward block was converted for Nipah treatment and isolation.

Other steps taken by the state were to prepare a contact list and route map, provide ambulance facilities for those who came in contact with the 12-year-old boy who died of Nipah, recruit additional staff and trained personnel and set up a control room. . He said that to coordinate everything related to Nipah.

Apart from this, all the districts have been directed to remain vigilant and prepare Nipah Management Plan, if required, he said.

The Chief Minister said that ICMR has assured to get monoclonal antibodies from Australia for the state.

He said that awareness campaign has also been intensified in Nipah affected areas and teams have been trained to conduct home visits and collect information including symptoms. and officers.
