Kia EV6 sold out for 2022, deliveries to begin by September

Kia had earlier announced that the EV6 was limited to only 100 units for India in 2022 and is now talked about for all instances.

The Kia EV6 has been sold in India for 2022. Kia India announced the development at the launch of the all-electric crossover, with prices starting from ₹ 59.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia had earlier announced that the EV6 was limited to only 100 units for India in 2022 and is now talked about for all instances. Bookings for the EV6 started on May 26, 2022 for a token of ₹10 lakh, and Kia says it received 355 bookings for the car in the last few days.

Kia also announced that the deliveries of all 100 units allocated for India this year will be completed by September or October this year. The Kia EV6 arrives in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and the company says that it has sought more units from Kia Global to meet the remaining orders. The Korean auto giant will retail the EV6 through 15 dealers across 12 cities and will expand to new cities in the future.

Offered in RWD and AWD versions, the Kia EV6 currently has no direct rival

The Kia EV6 is the brand’s flagship electric offering and is available in two variants – RWD and AWD. The RWD variant gets a single motor producing 226 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The AWD variant, on the other hand, gets a dual motor setup with 320 Bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque. Both the variants get the same 77.4 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 528 km on RWD and 425 km on AWD versions.

The EV6 is the first of several new electric models that Kia plans to introduce in India later. The automaker will invest in local R&D and manufacture for electric vehicles and is working on an India-focused electric car that will reach 2025.
