Actress Kirti Kulhari on Monday announced that she has turned producer and will be backing her upcoming dark comedy thriller “Nayaka” under her production house Kintsukuroy Films.

He said that in the last three years he starred in hits such as “Mission Mangal”, “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and the acclaimed series “Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors” – helping him widen his horizons as an actor. inspired to.

The idea is also to create opportunities for young talent, be it writers, directors, actors or technicians,” the actor said in a statement.

Kulhari said the production house’s name comes from a Japanese word meaning “the art of fixing broken pottery with gold”.

With the production house, the actor said, he aims to tell stories and “fill the void in people’s lives through the art of films”.

Her next film “Nayaka” is the story of a struggling actress who accidentally gets caught up in a crime. The film is written and directed by Ajaykiran Nair.

Kulhari, 36, said the film is a perfect opportunity to kickstart his production venture as it is set at a “fun location” that he hasn’t seen before.

“It is a fast paced dark comedy thriller and brings together young, dynamic and talented people. Ajaykiran has done a great job. Such a unique script marks the perfect start to my journey as a producer,” she said.

“Nayaka” is produced by Yatin Gupte and Sajid Melek’s Ward Wizard Entertainment, Vashisht Upadhyay and Kulhari’s Kintsukuroy Films.

The actor, who will next be seen in the Disney+ Hotstar series “Human”, began filming on January 2.
