KK’s death: Probe begins; Police say singer was ‘nearly surrounded’ by fan in hotel

Singer KK’s sudden death in Kolkata on Tuesday night has raised many questions. The city police has registered a case of unnatural death on Wednesday. A case has been registered at New Market Police Station under whose jurisdiction the Five Star Hotel comes. KK He had stayed on Tuesday night before being taken to the hospital and was feeling unwell.

According to news agency PTI, Kolkata Police officials are talking to hotel officials and scanning CCTV footage to understand the matter.

Kolkata Police has questioned two people in connection with KK’s death.

“We have started investigating the singer KK’s death And a case of unnatural death has been registered at New Market police station. We are talking to the hotel authorities and checking the CCTV footage to know what happened before we were taken to the hospital.”

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the 53-year-old singer, who was on a two-day tour of Kolkata, was “nearly crowded” by fans at the hotel where he returned after performing at the Nazrul Manch auditorium.

“The singer He had allowed some fan followers to take selfies with him, but then he refused to continue with the photo op. He walked out of the lobby and then went upstairs where he allegedly stumbled and fell to the floor. The people present with him informed the hotel authorities.”

KK was then taken to the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’. KK was brought to the hospital around 10 pm. But the singer died on the way to the hospital. Doctors at the hospital said they suspected the cause of death to be “cardiac arrest”.

A post-mortem will be conducted later in the day to ascertain the exact cause of his death. “The autopsy report will throw light on the exact cause of death. We are waiting for it,” the police officer said.

KK He also performed at Nazrul Manch on Monday evening in a concert organized by Vivekananda College. He was scheduled to return to New Delhi on Wednesday.
