Madikeri: Valuables worth Rs 10 lakh were stolen from a Mumbai-based entrepreneur staying at a resort in Kodagu within two days. Police has arrested two people involved in this TheftAnd recovered all the stolen loot including cash and jewelry from both of them. Kodagu The District Superintendent of Police, while interacting with the media in Madikeri on Monday, appreciated the efforts and efficiency of the police in solving the case in such a short time.
Mumbai-based businessman Balkrishna Bhandari, brother of MLC Manjunath BhandariArrived at Eval Back Resort at Karadigodu near Siddapur at around 11 am on Saturday. He had booked two rooms at the resort, and deposited jewelery and cash worth Rs 10 lakh in a security locker of the establishment.
After checking-in, the family came out of their rooms, returning only around 10 pm on Saturday night. He was shocked when the locker was broken and cash and jewelery were stolen. In addition to valuables, an iPad and several of its important documents were stolen. Kodagu SP AyyappaDeputy SP Gajendra PrasadOn receiving information about the theft, a special team was formed under the leadership of Circle Inspector Venkatesh and Sub Inspector Medappa (District Crime Records Bureau).
The police wasted little time in taking action, and their quick action resulted in the arrest of 31-year-old Pradeep, a resident of Guhya village who worked at Woodstock Villa, and 30-year-old Sharat, a driver from the same village. Police said Pradeep had allegedly worked at the resort earlier.
