Kolkata: CBI’s ‘Ponzi’ search on properties of TMC leaders | Kolkata News – Times of India

Kolkata: CBI searches at least five properties in and around the city on Sunday Trinamool leader Subodh Adhikari and his brother Kamal Adhikari were arrested in connection with an alleged Ponzi probe two days ago after their names surfaced during interrogation of Halisahar Municipality President Raju Sahni.
Subodh is the MLA from Bijpur in North 24 Parganas. Kamal is the chairman of Kanchrapara Municipality of the same district. Agency sources said they found that the officers were close friends of Sahni and suspected some “transactions” between him and Sahni.
CBI officers first went to Mangaldeep Apartments, which houses Subodh’s office, which is adjacent to his ancestral home – which houses Kamal’s office – in Halishahar.
Other teams arrived at the officials’ three flats in Kolkata: Patipukur, Pai-Kapara and Dakshindari in Lake Town.
