The accused Hublu Shaikh (43), a resident of Farakka in Murshidabad, was arrested from Strand Road near the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry building under the jurisdiction of Hare Street police station.

Sources said the consignments of the goods were heading towards the northeast, while some were for cross-border smuggling. “We will determine the source point and final distribution point after questioning the accused more closely. We will also find out the involvement of others with these two gangs,” said a senior STF official in Kolkata.
