However, he said that the central government is replenishing the stock as per the schedule. The Center had last supplied around eight lakh doses in the second week of September. Against the allocation of 41,63,150 for September, Punjab received 45,25,610 doses – 38,49,690 for Covishield and 6,75,920 for Covaxin.
Punjab has so far managed to provide the first dose of vaccine to 71% of the 2.06 crore eligible beneficiaries above the age of 18 years, while 24% have been fully vaccinated.
Out of 31,21,725 eligible beneficiaries belonging to senior citizens category, 91% have been vaccinated once, while 45% have received both the doses. In the age group of 45-59 years, the eligible population of 41,38,009 is partially vaccinated with 77% partially vaccinated and 33% fully vaccinated. In the age group of 18–44 years, 57% of the 1,33,95,568 population have been vaccinated at least once, and 10% have received both doses. So far, out of 19,538,397, 2,852,103 are in Ludhiana, 1,884,419 in Jalandhar, 1,484,969 in Amritsar, 1,425,120 in Hoshiarpur, 1,313,289 in Patiala, 1,192,725 in Mohali and 1,116,762 in Gurdaspur.
