Will repeal all anti-people laws, Congress promises in manifesto
The Congress in its manifesto for the May 10 assembly elections on Tuesday promised to repeal all unjust and anti-people laws passed by the BJP government in Karnataka within a year of coming to power in the state.
In the manifesto for the elections released here by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of state unit chief DK Shivakumar and CLP leader Siddaramaiah and others, the party reiterated its five guarantees: Griha Jyoti, Griha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi and Shakti.
In the manifesto, the Congress promised to “repeal all unjust and anti-people laws passed by the BJP government within one year of coming to power”.

Uniform Civil Code, NRC in BJP’s manifesto
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made several promises in its manifesto for the Karnataka elections released on Monday, including implementation of Uniform Civil Code and National Register of Citizens and providing three free cooking gas cylinders annually to BPL families.
The party has stepped up preparations for the elections to be held in the state on May 10 with its top leaders holding public meetings and roadshows.
The ruling party made 16 top promises in its “Praja Pranalike” 2023.
ECI reviews preparations for Karnataka Assembly
Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, on Monday held a video conference with officials to review the election arrangements, law and order situation in the state.
Video conferences were held with Chief Secretaries, Directors General of Police, Nodal Police Officers, Nodal Officer CAPFs and senior officials of enforcement agencies including Coast Guard, NCB, Income Tax etc. from Karnataka and the border states of Goa, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the ECI said.
