KTM 390 Adventure X launched in India at Rs 2.80 lakh: More affordable, less electronics

With SUVs breaking sales barriers, the adventure touring motorcycle segment is also gaining momentum. In fact, adventure touring motorcycles are now available in almost every price bracket. The most famous of all is the KTM Adventure 390, which is often criticized for being priced a bit high. To address the concern, the more affordable KTM Adventure 390X has been launched in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.80 lakh. The low price tag comes against a relatively short list of features.

The KTM 390 Adventure X also misses out on traction control system, cornering ABS and quickshifter. The motorcycle retains the dual-channel ABS system which can be switched off for better control on the road. The company has not confirmed whether the 390 Adventure X will get the color TFT with Bluetooth connectivity or the simpler unit of the 250.

Other than the electronics, the mechanical bits remain unchanged. The 390 Adventure X comes with a single-cylinder motor that produces 43.5 HP of peak power output and 37 Nm of peak torque. The components of the cycle like tyres, suspension and gearbox also remain the same. Also, the styling remains the same and the color options include – Orange and Dark Galvano.
