Hyderabad: Two days later, the Hyderabad Traffic Police issued a challan against a vehicle in the IT Minister. KT Rama Rao’s convoyThe minister felicitated a traffic sub-inspector and a constable on Monday.
On October 2, KTR went to Bapu Ghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.
While he was inside the ghat, KTR’s convoy veered in the wrong direction to pick up the minister, who was with Bandaru Dattatreya, the then Himachal Pradesh governor. Police issued e-challan for violating traffic rules, which was later cleared by KTR.
“Rules are for all – citizens or public representatives. The government stands with officers like SI Ilaiah and constable Venkateswaralu who work with integrity,” KTR said.
The minister said that he always follows the traffic rules but when the incident happened on October 2, he was not in the vehicle. The road was closed that day by the traffic police to facilitate free movement of VVIPs.
