KTR to represent TRS in filing nomination of Yashwant Sinha

TRS Working President and IT Minister KT Rama Rao along with others left for New Delhi to represent the party in support of Shri Yashwant Sinha’s candidature when he represented the United Opposition in New Delhi on Monday. Will file his nomination for election. ,

This has put an end to speculation about the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) side in the elections, especially after its president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced the decision to “equal distance” from the BJP and the Congress. ,

Speculations were fueled after the TRS did not attend two meetings convened by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar in New Delhi to discuss opposition unity in the elections. However, Mr. Pawar later admitted that Mr. Rao had agreed to support Mr. Sinha when he called him to extend the invitation.

Although Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao had taken the lead in building unity among opposition parties over the years to topple the BJP-led central government in recent years, he was equally bitter about the Congress that he sided with. was shaking hands. Saffron party to defeat TRS in last Lok Sabha election. Congress lost its chances to ensure BJP’s victory in Huzurabad by-election. In this context, he recalled that during his visit to Telangana last month, Rahul Gandhi did not utter a single word against the BJP while targeting the TRS. Hence TRS will not share any platform with Congress.

The manner in which Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao called the first meeting by Ms. Banerjee was also found to be at fault. He said it would have been appropriate for the parties to initially identify a candidate acceptable to all and propose a comprehensive discussion at the next meeting to build a consensus. “What is the use of first making up your mind on the candidate and then inviting the parties?” He asked.

He apparently quit his post after Mr Pawar called him up, but did not compromise on the TRS’ stand about the Congress. Sources said the TRS’s support for Mr Sinha was in spite of the Congress. The TRS saw Mr. Sinha as the party’s candidate against the BJP and that did not mean it went soft on the Congress. The TRS will hold its meeting of MPs and MLAs with Mr Sinha when he travels to Hyderabad for campaigning.
