Ku publishes user algorithms to personalize behavior and preferences

Ku has published its original algorithms to empower users to know why they are viewing the content they do. These algorithms were made public on Ku’s website in March 2022. Algorithms are a set of mathematical rules that help users personalize and improve their experiences based on their own behavior and preferences. The basic principle of these algorithms is to increase the relevance for the user.

Ku Discusses the broad variables used in its four main algorithms – Feeds, Trends, People Recommendations and Notifications. These four algorithms determine the type of content users view and consume.

Koo Co-Founder and CEO Apramaya Radhakrishna said, “Koo is at the forefront of promoting transparency and trust on social media. Our algorithms work without interference and bias. Talking openly about our algorithms is part of our commitment to let users know that Ku has no hidden agenda. In addition to our algorithms, all our policies are explained in multiple languages on our website, for the greater benefit of all users. We will continue to inform users about how Ku operates, and how we are building a safe, fair and reliable social media platform for the future.”

Mayank Bidavatka, Co-Founder, Koo, said, “We are very focused on our core stakeholders – users and creators. It is important to help users find the right manufacturer and vice versa. Our algorithms help achieve this and personalize multiple experiences keeping in mind the relevance of the user. We consider transparency as our core belief. By making our algorithms public we are taking a step towards giving users a better understanding of how we drive relevance. Algorithms are constantly evolving, and are used very frequently, and when we start publishing these, in the near future, we will also offer users the flexibility to view the timeline feed if they wish. It gives them the best of both worlds.”

In another global-first, Koo recently enabled voluntary self-verification – empowering all users to be identified as the real voice on the platform.
