The sub-400 cc faired sportbike or supersport segment is now replete with various options to choose from, with three new launches in the recent past, including the all-new Keyway K300 RLaunched a few days back, 2022 KTM RC 390 which made its India debut in May this year, and TVS Apache RR 310 based bmw The G 310 RR, which went on sale a few months back.

New keyway The K300R is equipped with a 292.4 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that churns out 27.9 PS of maximum power at 8750 rpm along with 25 Nm of peak torque which is delivered at 7000 rpm.

The BMW G 310 RR is powered by a 313 cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine similar to the Apache RR 310, producing a maximum power of 34 PS and peak torque of 27.3 Nm. On the other hand, the KTM RC 390 is powered by a 373 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 43.5 PS of power and 37 Nm of torque. This makes it the most powerful bike in this comparison. Apart from this, all three motorcycles are equipped with a 6-speed transmission.

The Keyway K300R sports a 37 mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Keyway has equipped the bike with 110/70 R17 tires at the front and 140/60 R17 units at the rear. Braking comes from a 292 mm single disc at the front tyre and a 220 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
The suspension setup on the BMW G 310 RR includes a 41 mm USD front fork with 140 mm of travel, paired with a rear monoshock with 119 mm of travel. It runs on 110/70 R 17 front and 150/60 R 17 rear tyres, while braking duties are taken care of with 300 mm disc up front and 240 mm disc dual-channel ABS at the rear.
The KTM RC 390 gets a 43mm WP Apex USD front fork with 120mm of travel, along with 150mm of travel paired with a 10-step preload adjustable WP Apex monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of with disc brakes-320mm at the front and 230mm at the rear, dual-channel ABS. The tire sizes on the KTM are the same as the BMW G 310 RR – 110/70 R17 at the front and 150/60 R17 at the back.

On the feature front, Keyway K300 The R gets LED lighting all around, alloy wheels and a slipper clutch. More details about the K300 R are yet to be revealed. Features on offer with the BMW G 310 RR include all-LED lighting, four riding modes (Track, Urban, Rain, Sport), 5.0-inch color TFT display, a bi-directional quickshifter as well as traction control.
The KTM RC 390 gets a range of ‘Grand Prix inspired electronics’ including Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), QuickShifter+, lean-angle sensitive cornering ABS and Supermoto mode. Other features include a TFT display with KTM My Ride, power-assisted anti-hopping slipper clutch, 2-step height adjustable handlebar, as well as all-LED lighting.

The Keeway K300 R price starts at Rs 2.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 3.20 lakh depending on the color option. Meanwhile, BMW is offering the new G 310 RR in two variants – RR and RR Style Sport, which are priced at Rs 2.85 lakh and Rs 2.99 lakh respectively. The KTM RC 390 is available at a standard price of Rs 3.16 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
