Guwahati: The demand for safe and secure vending zones by street vendors has emerged as a major demand in view of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections.
About 50,000 street vendors are often affected by eviction drives. The volunteers said that the Town Vending Committee (TVC) in Guwahati should be revamped and regular meetings should be held to expedite the welfare measures.
