LaLiga: Benzema-less Real Madrid come from behind to seal 4-1 win over Mallorca

Defending champions Real Madrid came back from behind to seal a 4-1 win over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu in their fifth LaLiga match on Sunday (September 11). The home team was missing its star striker Karim Benzema Injuries but late goals from Federico Valverde, Antonio Rudiger, Rodrigo and Vinicius Junior sealed the deal for the European and Spanish champions.

With this win, Real Madrid have topped the table with 15 points and five wins from five matches. Barcelona are second with 13 points and four wins from five matches.

Mallorca’s Vedat Muriqui silenced the home visitors in the 35th minute by putting the ball into goal. After being denied by Thibaut Courtois during the opening 40 seconds, Vedat unmarked at the back post after 35 minutes to give his team a 1-0 lead.

However, Federico Valverde, with a left footed shot from the edge of the box, made a delivery at half-time to level things up. Vinicius Junior doubled the lead in the 72nd minute with a goal. Antonio Rudiger made it 1-3 in favor of the hosts. After full time, Rodrigo scored a happy run with a goal, making it 1-4 for Real Madrid. (with ANI inputs)
