‘Land of Opportunities’: At Dubai Expo 2020, PM Modi invites global investors to invest in India

Underlining that India is famous for its vibrancy and diversity, Modi said the country has different cultures, languages, cuisines, forms of art, music and dance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the Dubai Expo 2020 virtually and urged global investors to come and invest in India. Terming India as the ‘Land of Opportunities’, PM Modi said, “Today, India is the land of opportunities. Be it in the field of arts or commerce, industry or education.”

In his video message, the Prime Minister said, “India is a powerhouse of talent and is making many advancements in the world of technology, research and innovation.”

“Our economic growth is driven by a combination of legacy industries and start-ups,” he said.

Referring to the theme of India’s pavilion – ‘Openness, Opportunity and Growth’, Modi said that today’s India is one of the most open countries in the world which is open to learning, perspective, innovation and investment.

He added, “India also gives you maximum growth. Increase in scale, increase ambition, increase results. Come to India and be a part of our growth story.”

He said that in the last seven years, the Government of India has undertaken several reforms to promote economic growth.

“We will continue to do more to continue this trend,” he said.

Underlining that India is famous for its vibrancy and diversity, Modi said the country has different cultures, languages, cuisines, forms of art, music and dance.

The Prime Minister said, “This diversity is reflected in our pavilion. India’s pavilion will showcase India’s best in many of these areas. It will also showcase investment opportunities across multiple sectors such as health, textiles, infrastructure, services and more. ” .

Noting that the main theme of Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, Modi said that the spirit of this theme is also seen in India’s efforts as it moves towards creating a New India.

He added, “I would also like to congratulate the UAE government for organizing Expo 2020 in a grand manner. This expo is also a testament to the resilience of mankind against the once in a century pandemic.”

Welcoming people to the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Modi said it was a historic event as it was the first to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.

He said, “India is participating in the expo with one of the largest pavilions. I am sure the expo will go a long way in further cementing our deep and historic ties with the UAE and Dubai.”

Modi also congratulated Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on behalf of the government and the people of India.

“I would also like to extend heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. I also extend my best wishes to my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of Abu Dhabi. Crown Prince. He has been instrumental in the progress we have achieved in our strategic partnership,” Modi said.

He said that he looks forward to continue working for the progress and prosperity of both the countries.

“As India celebrates 75 years of independence in the form of Amrit Mahotsav, we invite everyone to visit the Bharat Pavilion and take advantage of the opportunities in a resurgent new India. Let us make the world with sabka saath, sabka sath. Create a better place to live. Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” Modi said in his remarks on the occasion.

Expo 2020, which was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, opened on Friday and will end on March 31, 2022.
